Gender Stereotypes Many interests, hobbies, careers, articles of clothing, and forms of self-expression have been catorgorized as feminnie and masculine. Over time these ways of thinking have either switched from specifically masculine to specifically feminine (ex: high heels) and vice verse a, or things that were not gendered and now is and vice verse a (ex: skirts/dresses). These labels can be realized that they are unrealistic or unethical (ex: women not being able to handle money or own property). However, this is not always the case and many of these stereotypes stay in place and if broken can result in social backlash and even disownment by loved ones (ex: men in dresses and women in suits).
