  • Gender Stereotypes
Many interests, hobbies, careers,  articles of clothing, and forms of self-expression have been catorgorized as feminnie and masculine. Over time these ways of thinking have either switched from specifically masculine to specifically feminine (ex: high heels) and vice verse a, or things that were not gendered and now is and vice verse a (ex: skirts/dresses).

These labels can be realized that they are unrealistic or unethical (ex: women not being able to handle money or own property). However, this is not always the case and many of these stereotypes stay in place and if broken can result in social backlash and even disownment by loved ones (ex: men in dresses and women in suits).
  • Emotions
Women are seen as more sensitive, expressive, and submissive than men, while men are tuff, unemotional, and closed off. Socially men are affected more than women when it comes to controlling how they feel, commonly with the sayings, "boys don't cry" and "man up". This can result in males growing up to be closed off and apper unemotional for the fear of how they will be viewed.
  •  Position in society
Society loves tradition and throughout history, people have been required to fill specific roles based upon their sex. Which used to based upon what the two genders were physically capable of, but in the more recent years of human history have been what has been seen as masculine and feminine. When men participate in things that are more feminine (baking, makeup, fashion, etc...) often result in being mocked and called gay, sissy, or weak. Were recently when women step out of the roles they have been given praise for standing up for who they are and showing what they are capable of. When in the past they would commonly be physically and mentally abused.
  • Biology
Women and men are physically different, in what their bodies are and are not capable of. Women are physically able to become pregnant, while men are physically able to be stronger. The limits of one's body does not degrade them on they are capable of in other ways.
  • Mental health
Anxiety, depression, PTSD, eating disorders, and many other mental illnesses not only do different methods of treatment differ depending on sex, but views of it have drastically changed from the past. Even though treatments and views have changed, women are more persuaded to get help for eating disorders than men. Mental and emotional health does not differentiate on the basis of sex.
